ABOUT ME
I have felt drawn to work in the field of Psychology since I was young. Something about helping people while understanding the mind and healing the soul felt beautiful to me. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary I spent some time working at a youth group-home leading group work, as well as guiding individual and family therapy sessions, under the guidance of a Registered Psychologist. While I loved the work, I moved on to supporting families and parents in a role with Child and Family Services. This role fostered my love of working with families further and my desire to help those that needed the support. I completed my Master of Counselling degree from Athabasca University and worked with adult individuals on a walk-in basis at Eastside Family Centre in Calgary. Since completing my master’s degree and registering as a Psychologist I have worked with adult individuals both privately and at a non-profit agency. I have found my passion to be working with and supporting women especially as they transition into motherhood, in what ever way that journey may look. I am also passionate about helping couples navigate the transition into parenthood together. After becoming a mother myself, I felt that there was a gap in the system and in what was offered by mental health professionals. It also seemed that there was no where to turn when the transition into motherhood was not all sunshine and rainbows. I created LETO so that women could have a safe space to talk about all their emotions and feelings, good or bad, and to feel supported rather than judged. I work collaboratively with my clients to navigate the journey of womanhood and motherhood in a way that is unique to them.
